Malvina Hazen and the Jade Falcon Mongol Doctrine
Malvina Hazen transformed Clan Jade Falcon by turning terror into a deliberate operational doctrine. Her version of the Mongol Doctrine differed sharply from the original Hell’s Horses concept, which emphasized reconnaissance, speed, concentration, feigned retreats, and economy of force. Malvina kept the historical label but made spectacular punishment of civilians and defeated enemies central to her method. This episode examines how that approach accelerated conquest by convincing some worlds that resistance would bring catastrophe, including atrocities such as the poisoning of Apostica’s water supply. The same doctrine steadily destroyed the political resources needed to govern. It alienated allies, reduced the value of surrender, encouraged resistance, and tied military authority increasingly to Malvina personally. At Terra, Clan Wolf faced the Falcons as a prepared peer enemy rather than an isolated government vulnerable to intimidation. Falcon losses became catastrophic, Malvina fell, and survivors divided over what their Clan should become. Terror opened worlds quickly; it could not create durable legitimacy after conquest.
