The Refusal War: Clan Wolf Against Clan Jade Falcon
The Refusal War began in 3057 when Ulric Kerensky answered a hostile Grand Council verdict by committing Clan Wolf’s entire touman against Clan Jade Falcon. The legal dispute concealed a far more ambitious strategy. Ulric intended to cripple the most powerful Crusader force capable of renewing the drive toward Terra, eliminate Crusader strength inside his own Clan, and allow a Warden remnant under Phelan Ward to escape with genetic legacies, civilian specialists, ships, equipment, and institutional knowledge. This episode follows the campaign’s brutal attrition, Phelan’s evacuation toward Arc-Royal, Natasha Kerensky’s death fighting Joanna at Twycross, and Ulric’s death after Vandervahn Chistu violated the terms of a personal contest at Wotan. The Falcons formally won the Trial, but both toumans were devastated and incapable of restarting Operation REVIVAL. At Morges, Phelan’s exiles and the Kell Hounds destroyed pursuing Falcon forces and secured the Warden evacuation.
