The Wolves Divide: Crusaders, Wardens, and Exiles

The destruction of the original Clan Wolf did not produce a single successor. Phelan Ward carried Ulric Kerensky’s Warden project to Arc-Royal, where Clan Wolf-in-Exile established a sanctuary alongside the Kell Hounds while retaining distinctly Clan institutions such as Bloodnames, Trials, caste hierarchy, and bondsmen. In the occupation zone, Vlad survived the ambush that killed Ulric and used evidence of Vandervahn Chistu’s misconduct to challenge and kill the Falcon leader. This episode follows Vlad through the short-lived creation of Clan Jade Wolf, his acquisition of the Ward Bloodname, his rise as Khan, and his eventual restoration of the Clan Wolf name as a recognized Crusader power. The two Wolf societies claimed the same founders and traditions but interpreted their purpose differently. Vlad possessed legal recognition and an occupation zone; Phelan possessed Ulric’s mandate and a Warden mission centered on protecting the Inner Sphere. Division preserved Clan Wolf by making agreement over what Clan Wolf represented impossible. Visit ImaginedBattlefield.com for more military and science fiction.
