Twycross: Kai Allard-Liao and the Great Gash
Twycross became the first major Inner Sphere victory of the Clan Invasion and transformed Kai Allard-Liao from a gifted young officer into a famous MechWarrior. The victory was not the work of one pilot alone. This episode follows the Tamar March Militia’s costly resistance, the intelligence its survivors carried away, and the Federated Commonwealth counterattack built around the Kell Hounds, the Tenth Lyran Guards, and the Ninth Federated Commonwealth Regimental Combat Team. Twycross offered a rare advantage: the Diabolis sandstorm could disrupt sensors and aerospace operations, while the narrow Great Gash could channel Clan Jade Falcon’s elite forces into restricted terrain. Engineers prepared demolitions, infantry fought to keep the trap viable, and Kai entered the canyon in a damaged Hatchetman as the Falcon Guards advanced. His stand helped complete a plan already built by many others.
