The Shadow Divisions gave the Word of Blake a military weapon its enemies could not accurately count at the beginning of the Jihad. These secret formations combined Manei Domini personnel, advanced machines, hidden bases, covert transport, ROM support, and a chain of command tied closely to the Master. This episode explains how they operated alongside regular Word of Blake Militia divisions, Protectorate forces, mercenaries, and local allies, creating the impression of a military larger and more mobile than intelligence services could verify. Their sudden attacks on strategic worlds, industrial centers, headquarters, and resistance movements produced exceptional operational surprise. The same secrecy later became a weakness. Rival command structures withheld information, rare cybernetic troops could not be replaced quickly, and every secret division still required ammunition, technicians, JumpShips, medical facilities, and repair bases.
